When you look at Unibet's football odds, you are looking at prices that were not made by Unibet itself. They come from Kambi, a company most bettors have never heard of. Here is what that means, and what it means for the prices you get.
What Kambi is
Kambi is a sports betting technology supplier. Instead of building and running their own odds, operators can use Kambi's platform: the list of matches and markets, the odds themselves, the risk management and the technology behind the bet slip. The operator puts its own brand, customer accounts and marketing on top.
This model, called a B2B sportsbook, is common in betting. A few companies supply the odds; many brands display them.
Unibet and Kambi
Unibet's Dutch sportsbook runs on Kambi. We can see it directly: the odds we collect from Unibet come from Kambi's offering platform, not from a system of Unibet's own.
That has three practical consequences:
- The prices are Kambi's trading. Unibet's margin and opinion on a match are largely Kambi's.
- Other Kambi-powered sportsbooks can show very similar prices. If two brands use the same supplier, comparing them is often comparing the same odds twice. A real price comparison needs venues with different price sources.
- The margin follows the supplier's priorities, not just the brand's.
What Unibet's prices look like
From our measurements over 600+ matches (median margin, last price before kickoff):
Market | Unibet's margin |
|---|---|
1X2 | 3.1% |
Over/under 2.5 | 6.3% |
Both teams to score | 7.5% |
And by league, on 1X2:
Competition | Unibet's 1X2 margin |
|---|---|
Premier League | 2.4% |
Champions League | 2.6% |
Eredivisie | 2.9% |
La Liga | 3.0% |
Serie A | 3.7% |
Europa League | 3.8% |
Bundesliga | 4.0% |
Ligue 1 | 5.2% |
Conference League | 5.7% |
The pattern is clear: the most-watched competitions carry the thinnest margins. A Premier League result bet at Unibet cost less than half of a Ligue 1 or Conference League one.
What this means for you
- Compare across price sources, not just brands. Unibet against Toto, Polymarket or Overtime is a real comparison. Unibet against another Kambi brand may not be.
- Unibet is strongest on big leagues. Its 1X2 prices in the Premier League and Champions League were among the cheapest sportsbook prices we measured.
- Side markets cost more. Over/under and both-teams-to-score carried roughly double the 1X2 margin.
